The public record — basic building information and professional observations — is visible to anyone with the building's Farpost link or tag. Full professional records, including complete visit history and contributor details, are visible to verified Farpost members.
Verified owners can control their building's visibility directly from their account — including hiding it from public view — with no need to contact us. Farpost documents buildings on public roads and accessible properties as part of its network-building mandate, so the underlying record isn't deleted, but you decide who can see it. Every item in a Farpost record is tied to a visit date and a verified professional contributor. Observations are reviewed for factual integrity before they appear on the record — opinions, ratings, and condition assessments are not published. Farpost does not independently verify the accuracy of professional observations but does maintain a complete audit trail of who contributed what and when.
Farpost building records are accessible to any registered professional, including insurance adjusters and brokers. Farpost does not sell data to insurers or share records outside the platform. Access is controlled by the platform — professionals must register and be verified to access the full professional record.
Farpost is free for every professional role on the platform — adjusters, inspectors, contractors, agents, brokers, property managers, appraisers, accountants, and more as new roles join the network. Creating a profile, viewing building records, and contributing observations are all included at no cost. Farpost generates revenue through its dispatch and documentation services, not through professional subscriptions.
